When the Saints fans were crowing all over here in 2018 (they actually became slightly more humble last year on the back of the blow ups in 2018) about how they were going to win everything, I said numerous times they should enjoy the success (and they’ve had nowhere near the amount they should have)because time was ticking and it would only be a matter of time before they lost at least 2 or 3 of the four most important parts of that good side. The main man in Holbrook has gone. He was a superb coach and turned the place around (and as a Wiganer he was annoyingly likeable). After him they’ve got a front row which would be as good as anything and better than the vast majority of NRL teams and it’s what their game has been based around. They will lose Thompson soon and Roby isn’t getting any younger. When Walmsley is isolated you can then really target him and all of a sudden guys like Lomax and Fages are nowhere near as effective.
