I'm still standing by my prediction - It WON'T sell out.

Spoil sport!

You're right though, it'll finish on around 23k IMO.

When Maurice sold me to Leeds something changed, it just not the same, the passion inside me just wasn’t the same as running out at Central park for my hometown club.
We need a change of culture here; we don’t want to be just happy with playing ok on Saturday at St Helens.
Ill make sure that from now on things will change, that players will be under pressure and will train a lot harder than they have before.

The Latics don't have any fans, yet alone any famous ones.

2010 - 27,697 (Sunday 6pm)
2009 - 32,569 (Sunday 6:30pm)
2008 - 33,204 (Friday 8pm)
2005 - 37,208 (Friday 8pm - proceeded season commencing)

I think it could sell out yet. The trouble with this one though is the Magic Weekend is so close to it, bigger priority for most neutrals. The kick off time stinks though, that'll be the biggest factor in not selling out. Couldn't really avoid that though.

Big thing there is how many attended their first WCC. On the back of that, I'd be a bit disappointed if we couldn't conjure up 25,000 Wiganers to go the game. £20 for a seat behind the sticks isn't a bad price at all.

Has anyone seen marketing of any sort for this game around the town yet? That poster that was on here a couple of weeks back with legends through the years up to Sam at the front was quality, but I've only seen it on our own website and possibly in the RL papers/Rugby League World magazine. For fixtures like The Big One, Wigan have had posters up at various locations throughout the town as well as a couple of large billboards. So far for this one, I've seen no attempt from RFL to market the game to the town.

I agree there has not been much marketing to date and I would imagine the RFL are currently putting all their resources into plugging MM which I think will be a real flop in rip off Cardiff in cold February. However, I think a campaign will start from MM weekend on sky and around the town etc and this will ramp up sales as neutrals are likely to buy then.

Looking on our e -ticket site we have 4552 left in total (North 2613 left, South 342 left, West 341, East 1256). So we are currently averaging 127 tickets sold per day from Wigan (not sure how many the RFL are selling).
