Personally, I don't know why the club don't just give their side of the story right now ... unless they still feel the situation with Shaun Edwards can be salvaged, in which case they won't want to get into open slanging matches in the press, which might make things irretrievable. I wouldn't want him now - the standards in British RU are unimpressive when you look at the NRL, plus he's treated us very badly - but maybe IL and co feel they were too far along the line with him to just back off without making an effort?
I'm guessing two things are happening at the moment: a) Wigan arent reaching out to Shaun Edwards at all, he's made his bed and their letting him lie in it (pun intended); b) Wigan are working to find a long-term solution at head coach, so when they do make an announcement of substance it wont be 'Oh Shaun isnt coming anymore, heres some uncertainty and ... oh yeah, come watch the games!' its 'We tried to get Shaun onboard, but unfortunately he preferred to stay in RU all along. We've conducted an extensive search and have a (hopefully) signed contract in place for Shane Flanagan to take over ASAP'.
They cant announce he's not coming without some positive news, that would be suicide.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with anything that has been done by the club. I can’t reiterate it enough and can only repeat that I hope against all hope they make everything public.
Nothing worse than someone 'posting' I know all about it' style posts then not having the plums to say what they know. What are you afraid of? I have a feeling the Wigan mafia will let this one slide.
I’m a man of my word LSOW and I won’t disclose what I know because as well as confirming the information would be treated in confidence, it may well have legal implications further down the track. However, I couldn’t sit back and listen to people slagging off the chairman and Rad when I know they’re not at fault in any of this. Think of me what you want, I’m really not bothered. Believe what I’m saying or don’t, I’m really not bothered. As I’ve said from the start, I really hope the club gives full disclosure on what’s happened, then you’ll see why I was asked to keep the details to myself.

So, bragging on the internet that "I know, but i can't say" is keeping it to yourself?
I guess when the details come out you'll be banging the " I told you so" drum?

There is no bragging to be done. The whole situation stinks but I didn’t want to sit back and watch our fans slagging off the wrong people. I suppose I’m usually one of the more positive people who comes on here but I too was concerned when Edwards went to press and I was vocal in my criticism of the club. However, I’m happy that I was wrong and as ever, tried to put a more positive perspective on the whole saga. In all honesty I expected the usual moaners to come at me with the ‘put up or shut up’ remarks and no matter how much information comes out in public, there certainly won’t be any ‘I told you so’ remarks from me.

If what you say is true then Edwards must have signed a contract. It may be that Lenegan and Radlinski have acted honorably and been let down by Edwards, but to say they have done nothing wrong is naive if it is ever revealed that Edwards never signed anything. Edwards says he is unemployed after the RWC and having a think about his future, what would there be to think about if he has signed a contract?
It could be that Edwards is using his current high profile to leverage a way out of a deal, but Wigan should be able to nip that in the bud straight away by announcing he is their future coach instead of issuing that half-arsed statement. Wigan wouldn't need any clarification had everything been done by the book.
Edwards' conduct is poor, and worse if indeed he has signed something. His position looks to be untenable. But at the very least the professionalism of Lenegan and/or Radlinski has to also come into question here - that statement alone is a PR disaster and if Edwards is right about the contract saga there is a lot of explaining to do.

Legal implications? Oh come on. This is a forum filled with gossip and discussion with people using usernames etc. I'm pretty sure you have nothing to worry about.

If you really wanted to defend or change people's options from negative to positive on here about the club/chairman you'd just say instead of this childish 'I know but I'm not telling' act. Grow up.

I think you are correct
Gut feeling from me is that due to SE very public communications (however justified or unjustified) he can not now take the mantel as head coach. Any appointment made now lacks any real credibility.
What i can get my head around is why a very connected person like SE obviously is, he felt the need to broadcast his availability for potential new roles in the media? Id have thought he could just a have a few quiet words in a few interested ears and let the word get round that way.
Similarly if he was / is gagging for the Wigan job, why did he not just get on the blower to IL to sort?
There are ways to conduct yourself in public and im not sure i agree with SE conduct to be honest.
With regards to the blame. well i have no idea who is at fault so will wait for more information from the club and hope that it provides some clarity
To all those asking people to reveal sources and spill the beans. Regardless of legal implications (of which i bet there are a few), if somone has been told to keep a secret then FFS respect that.
If you are going to call out people credibility, does it some how make them more credible if they talk details?
no it does not
This is just a forum where us fans chat about the club, its not the junior bloody detective agency. Its just a bit of fun chatting rugby, that all

You really are very antagonistic. Quite easily my least favorite poster on here and I include Rubber Duckie in that
