The consensus at the moment is that Brett Finch has been in negotiations with Wigan, Hull FC, Saints and Souths with him most likely set to sign for South Sydney with Madge.

Also that Wigan and Hull FC are in contract negotiations with Jamie Soward.

Can anyone shed anymore light on this?

Brett Finch and Jamie Soward's managers probably!!

In all seriousness there will be a load of poop flying around in the media and on here etc I think the best thing to do is enjoy the season and wait till something solid is put out there as it does appear to be silly season in relation to rumours etc.

Matty Smith has definitely agreed a move to Wigan today and we are in talks with the agent of Jamie Soward from St George-Illawarra

I've been told today that Souths are preparing a sensational swap deal involving Sam Tomkins and Greg Inglis in 2015 with each player spending one season in the NRL and Super League respectively before returning to their parent clubs.

This is what I'm led to believe as well.

I think I recall you passing on information about recruitment in the past that was spot on so I'm inclined to believe you RE Smith.

No doubt that Soward would be the real coup there.

Signing Smith is an interesting one. I can't see him ever being a top halfback. He's done alright at Salford but he's hardly the man pulling all the strings; it's Holdsworth who makes the difference.

Sam Powell has the potential to be much better in my opinion. I wonder what the length of the contract will be if indeed he has signed.
