Last week we have seen the real intention or lack of it in the DR from Salford. He could have approached any of the top coaches from the NRL and offered them double if not treble their wages as its not on our cap in SL. Instead he got a very good assistant coach with a very limited head coach experience in Iestyn Harris.
He will make offers to players he can not get due to cap etc. He has done it now so often its getting to be a joke. Benji Marshall been the latest one. Which he knows will count on the cap. Its only covers an union player who has had no League background and he will have known that. He is full of it whilst i do think he has done some good for the game he is at times more concerned about his own ego rather than running his club.
As for Joel well is he infact trained by us so therefore could be covered under the new rule re club produced. So with the cap Salford could not hope to have him if we offered the same as we would get so much from the cap.
The Dr talks a good game but he name drops world class players but gets over the hill or players with issues. His best signing is Hansen for me most of the others have had issues or bottled it big style when it mattered in more ways than one.
