Hampshire would be the best signing for us since Jamie Lyon IMO. He is a superstar. Cant see him signing for us. But it does seem strange that George Williams as over taken him. Maybe Saints have offerd him Hohiahs wages and the promise he is our number one 6.

More than likely it would not be an Hohiah size contract that would persuade him to move to Saints but his preference for the 6 position instead of fullback, the position that Wane seems intent on playing him.

I know that some people say that Hampshire is unhappy playing fullback but you can see where Wane is coming from. In the Cas game ,the more robust, Williams made umpteen tackles against big men. At this stage in his development when he is still, officially a junior, the club have to be a bit more protective of him. He is still under contract until 2015/6 or so and someone needs to have a word with him about the rationale behind is progression. The idea that he will walk into another SL team is flawed as he is still learning his trade and any other club who could guarantee that is lying to him. His best bet is to listen to his coaches an learn all he can.

He's not playing but I suspect that's not the case, I notice Taylor and Goulding aren't playing for them either. Perhaps Wane's saving them for the three games in ten days we have coming up.

The club announced years back that Hampshire and others were signed until 2016.
That would mean if the rumours are true that Saints have signed him from season 2017. That does seem unlikely.
If they have signed him for 2015 and beyond then it's either a hefty fee or a court case.

Whilst the length of his contact is irrelevant at Wigan, as has been proved a number of times, this will never happen.

Whilst i agree to a certain extent IL wants his head seeing to if he sells one of the best prospects in RL to our local rivals. As stated he is under contract for another 2 seasons.
