When Chase was convicted of assault wasnt the contract extension partly due to maintaining his Visa. I may be wrong but I thought if you changed employers then you had to submit a new visa application which would probably be refused. Does playing for the national side change this ???

A pairing of Chase and Smith is 'exciting' but it would worry me in defence compared to Leuluai and Finch.

Personally I am not sure Chase fits in with our ethos. He seems very individual. He might do ok playing to the structures that we do with the freedom to find a gap if he finds it.

has any one mentioned liam watts? i haven't seen it anywhere if so... with lima returning to the nrl what about him as a replacement? also dudson is out for ten weeks could be a good bit of business if done for the right price. i know hes gone of the boil this season but at wigan with marc bitcon he could soon find hes form again he did look international potential not so long ago and hes english with youth.

We would be mad not to bid for chase and by the sounds of it he can't wait to leave cas. He's got that magic about him as a player and can make something happen, with a pre-season under wane, bitcon, harris, deacon and the wigan way he will know his role in our team. I was actually pretty impressed with him for england last year and with the likes of chase, tomkins, hock, lockers etc... I wouldn't like to be defending our attack!

Liam Watts is another I would be going for: young, english and with potential. Someone like him would thrive in the wigan system.

I'd forgotten about the Visa issue. Surely a move is almost impossible for him given other players who have been turned down for criminal records back in Oz. But then again, surely a Visa has to be renewed or can be looked at again and terminated by the government if they so wished. So maybe it's not the issue we thought at the time when he got his extention.

Not sure whether he would be a good addition for Wigan or not. Can look great at times, but how much of his game is created by Danny Ore controlling the rest of the game?????

Chase would be fantastic at Wigan, don't even think he wouldn't be. He creates tries for fun at Castleford, frightening to think what he'd do in this team.

Bit disrespectful saying he'd go though even if there isn't an (official) offer on the table
