The result isn't a surprise, I called Wakefield by 12 - they are on form and yes we have injuries to key players, it happens.

But the scoreline is totally uacceptable, as bad as Catalans away last year. I don't think it'll cost Wane his job (and it shouldn't either). But it is another wake up call for the club that things need to change. I don't know what the answer is, but we need a response.

Agree.

For me it shows that when Locky, Bateman and McIlorum don't play there are zero leaders in the team.

We have to buy experience AND leadership when recruiting for next season.

Not a troll - I have a genuine point here.

Wigan have a first rate academy so when you combine that with a side containing Josh Charnley, Tony Clubb, Willie Isa, Dom Manfredi, Lee Mossop, Sam Powell, Dan Sarginson, Matty Smith, Taulima Tautai and Joel Tomkins (maybe even Sutton and Burke) it is really surprising that the score was what it was.
There are enough seasoned professionals in that side to make a match of it.

I don't think that is being a troll. It is a completely fair comment. We may not have expected a win today but that result was a disgrace given the experienced players who were in the side.

It might be just a case of 'put it down to a very bad day at the office' and move on. Sometimes you can read too much into a result and beat yourself up with no positive benefit.

I think that result or at least a good hiding has been coming for a while. People will point to the win loss record so far this season but we have not played well bar one half v Leeds (which is not hard to do these days anyway).

If we want anything form this season, we need to get recruiting now. A hooker in the Piggy mould would be a start.

And the worst of it is; how likely that we'll see a significant improvement against Cas?

I wouldn't be too hard on Gildart, he's shown that he's SL standard, no problem. The senior players on that pitch today need to take a long hard look. As does SW.

I agree with DaveO; we've been fortunate this year, winning games by the skin of our teeth when barely deserved. Yes, a defeat's been coming, but of this magnitude?

Jodie Broughton mentioned something interesting after the Catalan game in Thursdaf, that the NRL guys that are in the team have lifted the rest of them and have outlined their goals for them.

It's something we have neglected for far too long in favour of "local lads". Passion only gets you so far. In fact if we had some today we might've actually scored...

It's amazing that we've had injuries all season and we're still only 2 points off top. Compare that to Leeds, who arguably haven't had it as rough as us, yet are 2 points off bottom. Perspective lads!
