All I’m prepared to say is that I stand by my comments. Mr Lenagan has shown an extreme level of diplomacy in his statement and has not yet disclosed any key facts, particularly about the contract. No point me going on, it only gets people’s backs up.
That’s the whole point. There isn’t a contract despite your club announcing that he had “signed” a 3 year contract.
I actually feel sorry for Wigan fans as I would hate to support a club that lies to its fans in such a way

I appreciate that. I am only going off the press release which obviously doesnt disclose all the facts
To me, reading that statement by the club, we are being walked all over but like i said, i dont have the same info you do
While having Edwards at the club could be a great thing, he should only be here if he thinks it's the right thing. Let him think it through, if it's Union money V's old team pride (it's not going to be the cash). He has to decide what's right for him.
So the club lied to/misled the fans and Lenegan doesn’t have the guts to say sorry or apologise. I’ve lost all respect for him (and I had lots). That’s before we even get to the incompetence and what I think of Edwards. Brexit is going better than this.

The one thing im bothered about at the moment, above all others, is that the EuroTrash brexit special on the 29th might be cancelled!!!
Did they lie or was they guilty of trusting a Wigan legend who looked as on board with this as they did? For me we have been played. It stinks of the ego that made Edwards a great player but at an awkward person. I can imagine this playing out because of that same ego when he wasn't offered the no1 spot with Wales when Garland said he was leaving. Very sad lets not forget Edwards sat in front of the press with our crest on his chest, telling the world how he would not leave Wales early because if his integrity... "A man of his word!" Hindsight ...naive? ..stupid even? But who would have imagined Edwards treating the club, fans and town with such disrespect.

The club said he signed a three year contract. He didn't. They lied.
Give him till midnight Sunday then pull the plug if we have to give him time . Personally I would pull it now as he has had nine months to weigh up his options (6 nations lasts 2 months) . His heart does not seem to be here so if we are not first choice then goodnight.
The more I think about it, the more I think it's Edwards going back on his word. IL to me seems to be of the opinion that everything was agreed, the contract would be signed after his current duties expired later in the year.
The fact he hasn't signed does give Edwards room to wiggle out of his agreement and make the club out to be idiots, for agreeing to show faith in a handshake.
Apologies for quoting myself. My thoughts are still the same and have been confirmed now, IL has shown faith in Edwards apparent commitment to coaching Wigan. I guess he thought that after all this time away, to make the decision to come back, he would have been 100% committed and felt comfortable with a handshake.
Clearly IL has been left to look like a prize clown. While it's easy to state the obvious about him not actually signing, it's Edwards that has created all this, because his stock has risen. Even had he signed, there would have been union people with money sniffing around.
I'm not going to spit my dummy and say I don't want him to come, I do. What I want more though is a quick resolution, so whoever the coach is can start to plan for next year.
