I think the big miss was not getting Stefan Ratchford. He covers Stand off, Full Back and Centre impressively and he's a Wigan lad as well. Add to that Trent Waterhouse + Chris Hill and Warrington's recruitment has been much better than Wigan's in the last year.

Maybe he didn't want to come to Wigan, have you considered that ?

On the flip side, it puts pressure on the clubs to produce quality players. Maybe a short term decline in SL standard will benefit the SL and the home nations in the long-term

In all honesty, I don't think he is that good of a player. So whether we thought we didn't need him or he didn't want to come, doesn't change the fact that he, just like the glorified support runner Myler, is over rated.

Wigan offered him 90k a year but Warrington offered more
