Think about it, young yes but does that not push the likes of Powell/Hampshire out for longer than necessary? I have to admit I am not very happy with the Green signing, I just do not see the logic in it with having a brilliant up and coming HB in Powell who SW should of put in there next season and progress him.

To me Green is a waste of time and money. Regardless of whether he is highly regarded at HKR or not, he's very injury prone and will spend more time cuddling the physio bench than playing.

I don't understand why people want us to go into next season with 4 halfbacks, one of whom has only ever played one game for the club against a weak opposition and two of whom will only be 18 next year and haven't even had a full season in the under 20's let alone any game time for the first team.

Surely that's just incredibly and unnecessarily risky?

Powell will get chances next year and both Smith and Green can be used as cover at hooker as can Powell himself. He's missed a big chunk of this season and the club might well send him on loan for a short while next year to get him used to playing regularly week in week out. He hasn't even had the benefit of a dual registration deal like many other young players did before reaching the first team.

As for Hampshire and Williams, we might as well give them time! If they are good enough they will get opportunities, if they aren't quite ready then they won't have been thrown in at the deep end too early.

The club has seen an opportunity to sign a good player. It will be interesting to see how long Green's contract is but the club will obviously try to keep the playing squad as strong as possible and with enough cover in important positions to cope with injuries and suspensions throughout the season. With no signing we'd be short on numbers anyway given the inexperience of our back up players.

Looks to me as if we are building a good young squad, the ave age will plummet for next season and that cannot be a bad thing for the long term. No sense in playing our quality youngsters too soon, and they will be getting chances to play, you only have to look at how many have been "blooded" this season, its a clear policy.

Not seen enough of Green to tell how good he is...

...But highlight reels can be dodgy things. I reckon I could manage to make Dennis Moran look like a cross between Andrew Johns and Billy Slater if I tried hard enough to find them.

He's been dropped not dumped really. He's a hooker too. If we've signed Blake Green then I can't see us looking for anyone except perhaps a prop forward.

i cant understand that statement.it's Blake Green in all the clips not an animated games video.A class player,quick,good hands and a good R/L brain.imo
