Wane hasn't been confirmed as coach yet, no.

Lauaki looked okay last night against Leeds, probably one of Hull's better players except getting himself into a scrap. A bit of polishing and he could be a decent impact players for us I think. He needs a lot of coaching though.

As for Dowes, he could be worth a one year deal to see how he goes. I've always rated him as a forward who'll work a lot for his team and he seems solid enough. Again, like Lauaki, some good coaching and he could very well turn into a quality player.

According to someone on wiganwarriorsfans forum the Gareth Thomas signing is off because of demands from the RFL.

Damn!

Maybe we should go in for him again in a few more years when he's had a bit more League experience under his belt.

lauaki's dim, I honestly don't see any coach ever getting him playing to his potential.

Dowes has been poor for Hull this season and has been in decline for about the last 4 years. He doesn't have teh physical presence to play prop now IMO

The Lauaki rumour is one that appears an odd one.
The only reason Shaun Wane would sign him is if he felt he could do a good job for us. What job though?
Laualki's big and aggresive, perhaps the idea is to start with Hock and interchange with Laualki. They are both aggresive and make their physical presence felt.
If SW is going to give quite a few younger players a place in the 17 then he will first make sure they won't get bullied. With either Hock/Lauaki or both out there no one will bully anyone without end up knowing about it.
At times that extra bit of aggression is what we've needed. How often on here have we said the team need an enforcer. Maybe we're going to have two.
