Dobson - played a massive part in saving us from relegation.

And Fletcher who was was also a great signing IMO. Amazingly underrated.
I might have been counting Feka as well who, although wasn't fantastic, he wasn't exactly average either.

And Carmont was an IL signing.

One signing we must make and for next season too IMO and that is a well seasoned and great loose forward. Someone who has size and ability in buckets full to come in as Lockers eventual replacement.
How many games and seasons Lockers has left I've no idea but we can't carry on with the hole in the team that he leaves when injured. We don't have a replacement 13 or anyone close to being it.
I think its one of the most important signings we must make this year (for next) so there is an overlap between Lockers last playing years and his replacement taking over fully versed in the loose forward's game.
Gallen is always being mentioned but Corey Parker has always impressed me. CP is a goal kicker too as we all know!
Just two names, no rumour or anything at all like that!

Parker is nearly 33 and Gallen 34, it would be ridiculous signing either of them as a replacement for O'Loughlin.

Regardless of age though, if we announced either on a 2 year deal, 99% of fans would be made up. Both still top class players.

I've always liked what I see in Greg Burke tbh and believe he should be back up to Lockers next year along with Bateman. I've called for ready made, experienced signings but no club can really afford to have top class back up for a top class player in Lockers.

We need a starting fullback and prop as a minimum and probably a centre as well. I'd let Patrick, Bowen and Hughes follow Burgess out the door and bring back Greg Burke.

He was a different player......once he was joined by Pongia.

Before that I thought he was disapointing at times although his ankle injury didn't help - it certainly took him some time to adjust to the game over here.

In terms of signings generally in the SL era, one of the very best Wigan made although domestic was Terry Newton from Leeds.

Maybe so ,but I'd ask the question - are Burke and Hughes contributing more to their current teams that Connor Farrell is to ours? That's not necessarily a pop at the lad, if he only plays 10 minutes what can he contribute?

Agree totally, JJ. Burke particularly would add some much needed size to the back row. I think it was extremely naïve of Wane/IL to allow Burke to go to Hull KR on loan when it is obvious that Lockers is going to miss quite a few games, as he has done the past two seasons. How SW can believe that a back row of Farrell (x2) and Bateman is big enough amazes me. Conor Farrell is the one who should have gone out on loan - the fact that Wane only gave him 10 minutes on a night when the Wigan forwards were struggling confirms he didn't have much faith in him. It is not Conor's fault - he is simply not big enough at the moment.
It is an indictment of Wane/IL/Rads ( whoever is responsible for recruitment) that Wigan's pack is so underpowered when there are a handful of players missing ( Lockers, Flower, Crosby).
