Was discussed on wigan tv yesterday with the chairman, basically wigan has contractually first refusal on signing him if he comes back but right now its all rumours, but chairman said we would obviously be interested

Although it would be nice Thaiday is a pipe dream IMO. He still plays origin and for the Aus National side, it's just Bennett isn't keen on him. He would get snapped up by the majority of NRL clubs.

Micky Paea would be a great addition, I heard we was in for him when he went to Hull FC but they offered him a more lucrative deal. I'd like to think we'd be sniffing around him again.

I believe that Bath and Saracens have entered the Sam Tomkins list of suitors.
If it's the highest payday that he is looking for then Wigan will not be his next destination. I just hope that Joel has a word in his ear.

Not saying you are wrong but Saracens and a few more clubs including Bath are been investigated for salary cap infringements. This is on going for 3-4 months and looks like some clubs are about to get punished. Now if Bath wants to get Sam then i would have their Sam off them.

WOW Saracens have a 40 million debt no wonder we got Joel back.

It is. How can they continue to trade with that amount of debt? Even averaging 15k for home games & sponsorships I don't see how the numbers add up.

Anyway, RU is bringing in 2 marquee players per club from next season, so that will free up some dosh on their cap. Assuming, they can maintain the spend, I don't think affording Tomkins is beyond them. Burgess is apparently on £300k, Ashton's on £250k, so with ST currently on some £350k (if you believe the interweb), the dark-side is about the only route he can take at the moment. Unless he's serious about staying in league. If he does, I could actually see him as England captain for the next WC in a couple of years.
