Nor does it explain why wigan would want Ratchford, given Sam is back at full back and Williams should be your 6 for years to come so where'd he play?

So what? Warrington are letting one of their best players walk away for free? Or is there a transfer fee? If there is a transfer fee, why wouldn't use wigan as at least a sweetener knowing that warrington were after Hampshire?

Similarly, Wigan have refused to even acknowledge approaches for hampshire from "rivals" (and there's been several) - why would warrington be any different? UNLESS it was as part of a deal which you claimed it wasn't ... None of it adds up.

I heard about the Ratchford rumour last week but didn't take much notice. Now it seems to have picked up some pace.

He's a great player who I'd love to see at Wigan but I just don't know where he'd fit in.

I wouldn't move Tomkins from Fullback so all i can think is Smith is leaving to be replaced by Ratchford.

That would suit me.

I like Matty as a lad, but he seems to be one of several players who are now cemented into the Wigan team who frankly are just not good enough.

I think there is better potential and quality coming through the ranks then what Powell and Logan will ever give at Wigan.

Saints tried to sign Hampshire last year, and got told in very strong terms where to go by Wigan. I'd be very surprised if Wigan let Hampshire go anywhere until the end of his contract, except perhaps on loan to Widnes next year ...

I would be surprised as well, but theres allsorts of cracks going round at the moment, you just don't know, one i got told on Sunday was that the club are keen to get Geoff Toovey if Wayney leaves, i took that one with a large pinch of salt
