Like I said, I heard early on in the season that he was off home at the end of the season but since then Tommy himself has quashed the rumour and Ian Lenegan announced at the last fans forum that he had extended his contract. I know its possible that players change their mind or circumstances change etc but Lenegan doesn't strike me as the kind of person that would lie to the fans.
"It's never been an ambition of mine to return to the NRL,I came over here in 2004 and have really enjoyed it. Wigan is a great club and it's a privilege to play with them and play hard for them. I'm off contract next year so we'll see what happens then."

I've seen them bomb a quarter final, bottle a semi final, finish as league leaders, but I've still, never, seen the Wire win the league Doom and gloom, doom and gloom
Recently there’s been a lot of speculation over my future. I don’t really have much to tell you on that at the minute, what I will say is that the amount of support I’ve had from you guys since I arrived has been simply amazing! I really can’t thank you enough and it’s definitely given me a lot of food for thought over what may happen in the future. I know it’s an old cliché but I really do try 100% to focus on how well I am playing then when the time comes I will make a decision.
