Chris Bridge would be a good player to have around the squad IMO with his versatility but I would worry who's leaving if he were to come in.

My guess would be Sarginson to Union for a fee before we lose him for nothing next year.

In which universe?

Presumably not the one wherein you identify places in the team that are weak, or are shortly due to be weak thanks to players planing to leave, and then fill them with someone pretty good?

In the universe we live in. Bridge is a good player IMO. Actually IF, and it's a big IF, Wigan are interested I'd back Shaun Wane's judgement on who he thinks is good enough to represent Wigan over what happens in your universe, if it's all the same to you.

Personally think it's 5/6 years too late for us to sign Bridge. IMO he had a hell of a lot of potential and i'd have loved to have seen what Madge could have done with him. Sadly at 30 it's too late for talk like that.

Now he's a decent player but he's not as good as what we currently have. I also think he's too good to be a squad/backup player.

Can't see this one going anywhere.

I consider myself a Wane and Lenagan loyalist, but given that Sarginson is leaving, Gildart still a kid and Thornley seemingly permanently injured, I'd be very disappointed in our two leaders if the best they could do to fill the gaping hole at centre was a 30-year-old Chris Bridge. Now if he's adequate in your opinion, fine ... but my opinion is that Wigan should be rebuilding towards the heady heights of being best team in the league, not just soldiering along with anyone they can get. That doesn't necessarily mean breaking the bank for Aussie superstars who are highly unlikely to come anyway, but it involves showing a lot more ambition than this signing would - so much so that I strongly doubt it will happen.

We have an option for 2017 which we'd obviously take so he's got two years after this one.

It's in the story from when we signed him on the official site.
