Yes! Get a large portion of our salary cap tied up with a 34 year old with past injury troubles in a position we already have quality players in. If we're struggling for space we can always offload Charnley or Manfredi. Well worth it to stop him signing for a mid-table team who has never won either domestic trophy. I hope IL reads these forums, he could learn a lot!

I think we'll need a winger to offer some cover but it certainly won't be anyone of the class of Richards (or with the same salary demands).

If Wakey go down I like the young lad Johnstone.

Has anyone actually stopped and thought that maybe Pat doesn't want to come back?

IIRC he was quoted how much he'd loved his time in Europe and how Italy was his favourite place.

Maybe he's looking to take his last possible shot at living in a different place?

So does anybody know what the bad news is going to be within the next 2 week?, The fans are NOT going to be happy due to this news according to a well respected poster (who is rarely wrong) on another site, has Hampshire signed for Saints?

If it's player departure/s there's not too many left anyone would really be that bothered about.

Aside from McIlorum and Bateman I could live with most others (aside from some who've already signed up like Manfredi, Sutton, Clubb etc).

My guess is Sarginson and possibly Charnley going to Union.

My guess is that it'll be Hampshire to Saints. Cue the unwarranted uproar from the fans, yes he was class in the reserves but he has yet to step his game up in super league, yet he has had plenty chances these past three seasons.

I can't see us allowing it tbh. He's got time left on his contract hasn't he? If so I'd be surprised.

Wire would be more likely I reckon.

What chances are you speaking of? When has he ever been given a prolonged run at 6?

I get the feeling the lad has been set up for a fail here. He's not a FB in a million years and everyone apart from Wane can see that.

He's the exact kind of attacking threat that we need in the halves as well.

I will be extremely peeved off if it is true.
He hasn't been given a real chance at anytime in his preferred position.
If true this has all the potential of a repeat of Sean Long ending up at the Saints in terms of biting us up the arris.
Never mind we can look forward to converting a forward to centre or recruiting another "impact" player who can breeze through his ten minute spells of huffing and puffing and doing jackshit. Ideally though I "hope" we replace him with another "versatile" player who excels at nowt and has never really held down a first team spot anywhere but can become our next project along with the influx of Welsh and London lads that are always in the "pipeline". No on second thoughts ideally I want a rough tough South sea islander who can run through a brick wall, have long hair so he looks real mean, can't pass a ball to save his life then buggers off after a year probably mid season because his grandad broke o toenail whilst out on the lash with his "tribe".Yeah much better than spending 6 or 7 years developing one of our own.

I hope the rumour is incorrect but no noise is bad noise in that there has been zero comment from the club in months re extending his current contract. Hopefully IL wil pull his finger out and gamble just for once on genuine potential rather than speculative potential or pure tripe sorry hype.
