| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"The way we're playing a new man with a new way of thinking may be just what's needed!!'" depends how rigidly diktats from above are enforced. Although, i agree, something needs changing. Just don't understand the away form, nor the squad-wide brain-farts that occur too often for comfort. No one person's fault, more a collective inability that seems to spread like herpes & comes on at the first sign of stress.

Starts and ends with the props/tactics IMO. Teams on their home patch are more in our faces but our props shy away and don't get in to the battle. That then has a knock on effect as the backs and in particular the halfbacks don't have the room to move. That then leads to errors as we move the ball around as our timing is out and we're playing too close to the line. That's then knocking our confidence and is leading to even basic errors without an opposition player in sight.
Put a Chris Hill or Peacock in to this side and I think we'd stand a great chance of going on to win the grand final.

| Only in a world where you are consciously looking to find and promote things that are wrong could you seriously call the loss of a junior coach 'very bad news'. Don't know what some of that lot are on on the other site. Okay, would rather keep Deacs than lose him to Union, but it's hardly an apocalyptic development. And as for Sarge - well, we all knew he was leaving anyway. If anything, the 'revelation' that he's going to the NRL is better news than if he'd been going to Union, though only marginally.

| Quote Pemps="Pemps"Apparently not. There seems to be quite a lot of "I know something you don't know" going on particularly on the other forum.'"
What I have been told is much more serious than Deacon leaving albeit, that would be disappointing. Deacon had a set to with someone from Warrington (Agar?) at the day at Haydock last week. Not sure what all that was about but may explain why I didn't see Deacon at the game with Wire. That isn't the forthcoming revelation by the way.
I'm not sure how I would stand legally if I were to publicise what may be incorrect information and do not want to cast aspersions on the club if my information is way off beam.

I was going to say you can expect a few enquiring PMs but, to tell the truth, I'm finding our forum a bit down on numbers these days compared to other clubs'. Anyway Deacs' demise creates the perfect opening for Lockers IMO.

This keeping a flat line even when on attack is one of our major problems, this is also the cause of so many passes going behind the next man. With the opposition in their faces the man passing the ball has to get rid quick and at the same time watch for the opposing player knocking the ball down or going for the intercept.
These days opposing teams now know that all they have to do is get in the face of the Wigan player they are marking and the ball will just move along the line with no time or space for run around or a player coming back against the grain.
I don't know how this has got into the rumours and signings thread, I am just tagging on.

| Warrington look to have signed Jack Hughes... Whats peoples thoughts on him? I haven't really watched enough of him to make a proper judgement.

| Someone has just posted on one of the Faceboooook forums that we are due to make 4 announcements on Thursday. Ive heard a couple of the rumours on various pages I follow but this lad is claiming
1. Deacon leaving to go to Sale (that seems to have hit mainstream news now)
2. Lockers to take over this coaching role.
3. Sarginson is leaving to NRL/RU (heard this before with different destinations muted)
4. Wigan have signed Widdop ( first Ive heard and will believe it when I see it)
But having said that the rumour mill is in overdrive at the minute. Bridge, Ratchford, Hansen all been voiced on various pages. Will be interesting to see what the recruitment does actually amounts to because there have been some quality names brandished about.

Decent player IMO that grafts all day long
Is partial to a mistake or three, however i am not sure how he has fared since being at Hudds over the course of the year.
from the limited time i have seen him he looked to have kicked on. I think the general feeling between Hudds and Wigan fans is that we got the bum deal having Larne Patrick come in.

But with the benefit of hindsight...

oh absolutely
When the deal was struck i sed under my breath that Hudds had got a very raw (but capable) young talent and we had signed a top class impact 2nd rower with a good pedigree and loads of potential.
the deal seemed like a no brainier.
However for some reason it just has not worked out for Patrick and i would not be against him departing at seasons end. On the other hand Hughes has secured himself a deal (possibly) with a decent mid table side. Dont get me wrong obviously Wire are a huge, huge step down from both Hudds or Wigan, but at least he will get game time as the Wolfs fight it out at the bottom of the table next year.
Who knows, he might even get rewarded with a promotion back to SL next year after Wire get relegated.
Fair play to the lad
