If there was ever a player/prop that epitomises what Wane loves then it's Dodds. Hes an extremely hard worker, loves the defensive side of things and has a great attitude. His go forward isn't the kind of stuff to write home about but you never know if the step back to SL will see him improve.

Ticked all the boxes of a guy who could have slotted straight into ourside imo.

As far as I'm aware we were trying to sign him. Maybe Warrington outbid us. I do hope we have someone else lined up though.

We took Mossop back... Lockers did his ACL years ago as well and he didn't turn out too badly.

We couldn't have signed a more injury prone player than John Bateman.

He turned out ok

Unless we sign a 23 year old Australian international our signings will be condemned by the masses,havent your realised that Wigan fans demand the perfect singing and anything less is picked apart?

It doesn't matter who we sign as long as we bring some new blood into the team, if only to freshen things up

I think that's a fair point.

Without a shadow of a doubt the majority of our side should come from our academy. We've invested a lot of money in developing these kids and history also indicates that you need a good nucleus of home grown players to achieve long lasting success.

BUT Wigan have a proud tradition when it comes to signing players some of which where stars like Lam, Trent, Kenny, Hanley etc and some of them were turned into stars at Wigan. Either way we talk about the 'Wigan Way' and as much as home grown players have helped it so have the players we've brought in.

The talk of this whole Wigan produced first team really fills me with dread.
