The more I think about this, the more it reminds me of the fuss when it was announced that Wigan would be signing Brett Kenny as that meant former incumbent in the no. 6 shirt, Mark Cannon, might be dropped.
I'm not for one moment saying that Chase is another Brett Kenny - not be any stretch of the imagination - but he's probably one of the best options available in the UK at present (if not the only one) and people looking for reasons why we shouldn't sign him are making a big mistake IMO.
Though in retrospect it seems ridiculous, some folk were genuinely peeved about Kenny coming because of Mark (who? - exactly) Cannon. With Chase it's for equally spurious reasons.
Aside from one moment of thuggery and a completely unjust Man of Steel award - which rumour has it was mainly to do with the Leeds and Warrington players - he's a very decent player, who could be made even better once he comes under Shaun Wane's discipline.
