Totally on Maguire's head that. He's had ample opportunity to blood the next wave of youngsters this season, but he's always gone and picked the strongest team.

As a result we're now either going to have to ask Deacon to play another year (when he's clearly finished) or spend big money attracting an Aussie on a two/three year deal thereby blocking Mellor/Powell.

Why not?

Sam had only played in a glorified friendly before he came off the bench v Quins in 2009, so why shouldn't Mellor be afforded the same opportunity?

we need a big forward (backrow or Prop), a half or hooker and a centre.

Tomkins is not a centre. His best position in second row that is where he MUST play.

May not see him that often and he may just be presuming he's signed like everyone else.

I'm one of the few that would settle for the signing. He'll bring loads of press to the club especially around the time his film comes out and will be no more then back up to the first team.
