The Hampshire situation looks crazier by the day. He was sent on loan to Castleford to get experience in the halves. So far he isn't making the team. Some experience that is. He would have been far better off playing for our reserves.

Sad though it sounds, maybe Hampshire is happier sitting on the bench at Castleford rather than Wigan.



As an aside Wigan have released Rhodri Lloyd who has now joined Swinton .

Except he's not even on the bench.

Benji Marshall to Hull FC for 2017

How's he been since he came back to Rugby League?



He'd be a huge signing for them but that doesn't mean he'll be a good one I suppose. I look at Todd Carney and he still looks like a player why's drifting over here. It's only two games in to the season but the signs aren't good for him producing what he should be doing for Catalans.

Hull have a great team, but I think Radford let's them down.



You put someone like Madge in charge of the current Hull squad and they'd be favourites imo. They seem to have good blend of quality imports, established English stars and good youngsters.

SW. Point taken, but to be honest Hampshire was very rarely picked on the bench, he was either picked at fullback or nowhere at all.

I think Benji still looked a very good player last season, even though his partnership with Widdop hasn't panned out as well as it should.

Catalan have signed Willie Mason on a 12month deal.



Percival has been ruled out at Saints for up to 3 months. bad luck for a good young player.

Saddo is already predicting they will finish outside the top 8 now

And I'm predicting Saints' offsides conceded will half whilst he is out.

I see Joe Burgess didn't make it into the seventeen for Roosters game at Saints. Do we know if he has an injury or is this a sign that he is going to have difficulty breaking into the Roosters first choice squad.

Just not selected I think. His big issue is how Mitchell has burst on the scene I'd imagine. He's nailed himself a Centre spot I guess they had Kenny-Dowall pencilled in for which has now pushed him on to the wing.



He'll have to displace SKD or Tupou which won't be easy but I do think he's as good and will be better then both in time.

I fancied him to take Tupou's place but he'll have to fight for it. You wouldn't drop SKD in a hurry.

Would anyone have him as an assistant to Wane? 5 years experience. Guided Hull KR to the Challenge Cup final last year - albeit they got slammed. Could he bring some new ideas to Wigan?

Chester wouldn't be my choice but we do desperately need a new backs/half backs coach.

Each week it's the same old, same old.

No new moves or plays just the same old routine stuff.

I'm not sure how he would qualify to coach Wignan other than that he's an ex-Wigan player so we like him.



Think it would be a retrograde step. We need something completely new and different.

If we wanted to employ a HKR employee (current or ex) then we would have been better going for Peacock. I dont know what his coaching qualifications are like but im sure he would work wonders with our powderpuff front rowers. Sorry, middles.......

Unfortunately I don't think courage and heart can be coached. You've either got em or you haven't.

Why not go for Paul Rowley (at present being linked to HKR) for backs coach. he had Leigh playing some great rugby during the last few years, some fans say to much rugby at times.



If he doesn't fancy an assistants job, make him head coach and give Wane the assistants job and tell him to concentrate on getting some fire in the present forwards.





Remember an unknown assistant named Maguire coming in has head coach a few years ago, with Wane as his assistant concentrating on the forwards, I seem to remember it working rather well then.

I don't think Rowley would be a bad shout for a coaching role. But I wouldn't give him the top job.



I keep thinking of Saints signing Millward, who'd also worked wonders with Leigh, and though it all went swimmingly at Saints too, what happened after that seemed to indicate that Saints had won everything despite Millward not because of him.



Leigh isn't Wigan. But he's an adversarial character and a big thinker, and any kind of promotion could be possible if he proved his worth.

According to Wane ww may be looking to recruit a hooker to counter the MM injury. Bob Beswick being mentioned.



Surely for the love of God we have eyes on the ground in the NRL scouting better options than this!



I see no point in bringing someone in if it is just for this season. We are screaming out for a quality 2nd hooker, so lets target one rather than a stop gap who wasn't good enough for us first time around.

I feel we are screaming out for a big signing to play anywhere. Feel we are terribly short of star talent.
