Some Salford fan said to me and I quote "You are by far and away the most Handsome & Knowledgeable Rugby League Fan in England!"

I thanked him and went on my Merry way!

Yes, lenegan attempted to buy the stadium company only
Up until the announcement last week ago re the Spanish buyers he was still very involved in trying obtain the stadium only.
That doesnt mean he wasnt interested as such in Latics, but the preferrable option was for someone else to pick them up and become tenants of the stadium company.
The stadium company being owned by leneghan, and Wigan rlfc also being owned by leneghan, but they would be speerate companies.

To further show what exactly has been sold by the Administrator, since the 4th of October the new Spanish owner of the Latics has registered the club at Companies House under a new company name of AFC Wigan Athletic Limited with no separate company registered as owning the Stadium. The companies of Wigan Athletic FC Limited and Wigan Athletic Holdings Limited which went into administration are still registered as being still owned by the Chinese.

It therefore would appear that the Stadium is now part of one company sold by the administrator to the new Spanish owner.

"Brian McDermott, with a wry smile, nods when asked if he remembers a specific incident which made him realise he was a prick. 'I do', he murmurs."

The Wigan RL lease will have been acquired by the new company who, in turn, can't just change the terms of it. So this looks like the status quo continues.

The spanish don't own anything yet as the deal has yet to be approved. When it has been they will own the football club and the stadium. How they choose to register them is their own decision.

The companies in administration that currently own these will be liquidated so the lease for both clubs to play at the stadium will no longer exist.

They aren't being liquidated. All the terms and agreements will be absorbed by the new company surely? The stadium was transferred into a new company under Dave Whelan and nothing could be changed then.

Two totally different scenarios. If that was the case there would be no need for AFC Wigan Athletic or Rangers 2002 (or whatever the year is) or many other examples.

It is not the companies being sold but the assets of those companies. One is a football club and the other is a stadium.

Does this mean that the council have lost their part of the stadium then. They can't own anything if it's liquidated no matter who they are.

Potentially. Or they may have already put their 15% in at the start and only an 85% stake in the stadium was for sale. We won't know that till it's signed and sealed, but if they have lost it then our situation is slightly more worrying as there's nobody there to protect us

So what your saying is that what you were saying up until this point WAS wrong???
What the new owners do in future is entirely up to them, and for reference they haven't officially purchased it yet,

But that doesn't take away from the FACT that it was 2 x separate businesses previously

You can't have a discussion on one subject and then change the goalposts later and claim your right
