For me TL is our half back along with Williams. He has always been a half for me that is able to play 9 and fill in there all be it very well.

McIllorum and Powell hooker, I would like to see a Dwyer type hooker replace Powell who brings in some zip and a scooting game but I don't think that is likely. I don't think TL is the man to bring that to the team either.

Shorrocks looks to have established himself as our back up half with Smith and perhaps Hampshire likely to go.

The point about Sam raised is a good one. Whilst he has shown mixed form I don't think we can carry a fullback who isn't able to get us on the front foot and a potential move back into the halves may well be the right path for him.

Soward has been a great player and still will probably do a very good job in SL I just don't see us being interested with the cap space it would take and with the cover we have in that position.

I've not been too excited about Hardaker but with doubts over Sam as a 1 and his ability to play in the centre or on the wing then for me he becomes a much more viable player to invest a large slice of the cap in.

Leeds want a transfer fee of £300k for Hardaker.
That's a lot of money.

Never saw Tommy as 7, one of the worst kicking games I've ever seen from a 7, rarely finding the ground, kicking for me is crucial. Stroke of genius from the NZ management moving him to 9, thought he was so much better there.
Never been a fan of Micky as a 9. He's a good 'player' but doesn't implement the skillset for a 9, always thought that.

Agree with Zac, can cover 1 and centre, two positions I feel require covering.

TL has been playing in the halves for NZ, at 6 in fact. I think he's class in both positions but more suited to half with his organisational skills and passing in the line.

I hope he's improved. Seemed void of ideas with no kicking game previously.

PS 6 and 7 at Wigan is the same position. Just one left side one right.

He has been outstanding in the halves for NZ. Taking on the line exactly what we need.

That's one of Williams made strengths in the halves. Currently we seem to be playing with a distributor; Smith, a running half in Williams.

Smith can't distribute though. Left or right most of his passes are poor. It was unbelievable on Friday when he flung a poor pass out to Charnley which went to ground yet ended up scoring the try!

Also how weird will it be if Smith ends up lifting the SL trophy and then leaving for Saints?
