Thomas shouldn't be anywhere near the first team squad. He's just not good enough!
Still rackon that if Roberts is fit then play him at 2 with Charnley 3 and HH our right sided 2nd row man. Josh would then have experienced men around him.
Tomorrow will be interesting to hear the reason we have signed him.
Surely it can't be for playing reasons.

What about playing Roberts at centre? He's certainly got the hands and rugby brain for it and I'm sure he's played centre in the NRL in the past.

First of all, let me get it out the way, I don't think Thomas is good enough for Wigan to be going out of their way to sign him.

However, I actually thought he looked decent for Crusaders this season, big, physical presence who could pass the ball. Full preseason working in our system and he could well be decent. He shouldn't be any more than backup mind, but if the RFL are paying his wages, I'm all for it.

Whatever happens re Joel i dont think that he was the answer to Gleeson leaving. Roberts might be an idea but if we have cap space and with Joel going we will then a centre or a new 6 is a must.

I'm assuming this, but surely to goodness we'll get a decent transfer fee given the lenght of his contract?

If so, throw that at Hull and get Yeaman in for instance.

Well ofc he was not the answer but the only option, Gleeson left a massive hole. Coupled with the fact that the long term planning would have had us with Piggy, Amos, Fielden and Hock at some stage in the season. Last season was a bit of a nightmare for the management, but i'm glad to say that unlike some other teams we did not moan about our losses.

Been wondering about this too, I think he'd be great there - if he can play with at least some of the dynamism he was showing before his injury.

could we not move sam back to 6 and give matty russell a chance at fullback?? he's learnt his trade in the under 20's and been apart of the grand final winning team for the last few seasons.... its no coincidence huddersfield are sniffing round him

Roberts can't tackle, he'd be my last choice at centre. If JT leaves, we can always alternate Charnley/Goulding on the right side with Marsh as a replacement for a time until the right signing is available. If we sign Thomas then he could do a shift there also.

I'd give Yeaman a go definately, consistent Super League player. Would Hull be willing to sell him though? I'm not sure they would.

The only other players I would go for would be Ben Farrar at Catalans, or Tony Clubb from Quins.

i want to see Hock given a go there seeing as he often breaks tackles and love to pass, Faz & Hanson in the pack, we would be awesome
