Not too worried about the size of our 20 year old reserve prop, particularly as some of the biggest props I've seen have been some of the worst.

| Quote Aboveusonlypie="Aboveusonlypie"Not too keen on having Eddie back but if anyone saw the USA v Italy game they would notice that he showed up very well against a strong Italy pack made up of NRL players.
Just saying.'"
Unless my memory is playing tricks on me he showed up very well in the last World Cup too which is why we signed him last time round.

| Quote NickyKiss="NickyKiss"I noticed that and must admit I shuddered. Is there any need to be practicing wrestling techniques 2 months before we play a friendly?! It just seems a recipe for some injuries but I ain't no expert.
In regards to Pettybourne, I'd rather we didn't but if we do, I'd be willing too give him a chance. His form back in the NRL has been pretty good by all accounts and it does sound like he had a personal cloud hanging over him last time.'"
Personally I want new faces and new tactics.
New players are something to look forward to and talk about. We haven't had a "new" player to get the juices going so to speak for several seasons which for me is a factor of the negativity around the club.
The same old same old just leaves me cold and pretty uninterested.
Pettybourne is just another grey player. No discernible talent and no personality. He will obviously be viewed well by SW/KR/IL.
I understand the cap issues and the problems in getting shut of FPN but don't see how Pettybourne would be an improvement on what we have and what we have in the forwards imo just isn't good enough.

| We need a top signing for 2018 just to get us Wigan fans excited. The last few off seasons have been disappointing, with the Club constantly focusing on bringing through the youth which is commendable but not exciting.
I know their are salary cap restrictions in place but we need some encouragement. So far i am full of envy for teams such as Warrington who have already signalled their intent for next season.

Didn't realise that. I know he played a lot of games in his first season or two back there and by all accounts had gone quite well.
He can be no worse then FPN but that's nothing to brag about.

You're right, he did do well, but I think we had already signed him by then.

| Love Rugby League are reporting that it's Widnes who are signing Pettybourne. They wanted him last year but he couldn't get a visa but apparently he will now get one after playing more games for the USA.
Is Bousquet out of contract? That was what all the websites said mid season but he doesn't seem to be linked to anybody.

| It is quite alarming that we are even showing a glimmer of interest in him, the very fact both Eddy and his missus both got extremely homesick on his last stint over here in wonderful Wigan (when it was just them) and now she is expecting a child should have alarm bells ringing! I would imagine we are being quite cleverly used to increase any other offers he may have on the table. Even SW knows there a lot of other, much more viable "less risky" options available to us if we really need another forward and the source I was quite rightly advised by regards FPN & Gells both returning had no clue we were even linked to Pettybourne. We enquired about a trade deal with Junior Sau to Salford involving Sam Powell, all was good but he has since rebuffed the offer and decided to stay. We also spoke with Hull regards Chris Green but again the player rebuffed the offer and I am once again informed Liam Marshall is indeed heading out on loan to Swinton.

| Not too much to look forward to, then. Lets hope Hamlin is a pleasant surprise, and doesn't turn out to be another Navarette.

No offence, but it seems like your adviser just makes things up.

| Somebody on twitter has mentioned Hock on a pay as you play deal. He asked Phil Wilkinson who said he'd spoke to him last week and wouldn't say if Wigan were one of the three clubs who'd made offers.

| IF this is true then it really does show the lack of the clubs ambition, it really is scraping the bottom of the barrel
