I wouldn’t miss Gelling that much as a player. But he seems a top bloke and quite rightly popular with the fans and players, and is a very good metre maker, and on his day can be almost unplayable.
I would hope (assume) he wants to go back to NZ/Aus? I’d be pretty gutted if he left for another Super League team.

He has just done his UK citizenship test according to this article from three days ago, so highly unlikely he is back off to Australasia imminently. Fully expect him to still be a Wigan player in February.

Bateman would not be taking Gellings place as Bateman plays left centre not right centre.

But he plays on the right side when playing second row. And he wouldn’t be taking Gildarts place that’s for sure. Gildart it becoming a fantastic player.

Bateman will be playing for an Australian club side within the next two years.

SW has publicly stated that Bateman should not be in the centre for England but deserves a place in the 2nd row. Clearly, SW sees Bateman as second rower and he (rightly) should only be used in the centre when we have no other option.

So who knows best, Wayne Bennet or Shaun Wane...?
