I will be entirely honest, I have no clue what his plans are and I don't think the club do either.

Seem to be a bit confused there Cherry. Which is it - you support the club through good and bad times, or the club has to prove its worthiness?

Apologies if you find me condescending, but you seem a bit thin skinned, maybe give the forum a miss like you are giving your team a miss this season.

Can't help feeling that Anthony Gelling suddenly behaving in a way that so many of us have feared from him for so long is the very last thing we need at this stage.

I so yearn for a return to Wigan of solid professionals in the mould of Pat Richards and George Carmont.

Yes and i have done for many years. When it wasn't the players fault, when we could ONLY sign mediocre players. It isn't the team's fault for our failings, It's the powers that be with their short sighted lack of ambition with no desire to improve on what we have. far too concerned with nonsensical trips to Australia and London. Doesn't feel like my club any more. It's like we borrow it every so often so IL can play with it.

But yeah you are right. I think i will give it a miss.

Did it feel like your club when Whelan and Lindsay mk II were cheerfully running it into the ground (and winning nowt in the process)?

Navarette is staying. He has posted on Instagram 'Thanks to UMB Perpignan to give me the chance to be ready for next season with @wiganwarriorsrl. Looking forward to be back in cherry and white'

That’s good news. I hope he kicks on next year, really good prospect, just needs refining in some areas (mainly defence).

That's good to hear. He looked good in his first few games before his performances dropped off. Hopefully he's managed to get over the homesickness that was mentioned before his loan to Catalans.

What that does mean is we're looking at one hell of a big squad next year given how many players are on first team contracts. I make it

Props: Nu'uausala, Flower, Clubb, Tautai, Sutton, Bretherton, Navarette, Field, Barnes, Partington, Kibula (11 - 8 with 1st team experience)
Back Row: O'Loughlin, Farrell, Bateman, Tomkins, Isa, Wells, Hamlin, Davies, Paisley (9 - 6 with 1st team experience).

14 players with Super League experience vying for what's likely to be 8 places in the team, plus another 6 on first team contracts.

Glad Navarette looks to be staying. He again showed there’s something about him during the World Cup.

He needs to get a lot fitter but hopefully he can do that and kick on for us.

For me it's both.
I support the club through good and bad times but when they are downright shoite I will say it as I see it.
The last 2 years have been turgid from an entertainment point of view. I gave away my ST in 2016 & 2017 at the super 8s as by that time my patience had gone and to honest I couldn't be arsed watching another cold, grey performance and I have never bood the team in 50 years but if I'd have gone at the backend of last season that is what I would have done.
The club for me has lost it's way in the last few years. Poor signings, awful discipline on and off the pitch, a style of play bereft of any enjoyment and communications that at times have been farcical. What are club doing about growing season ticket sales? I'm buying mine almost by habit but with what are they going to entice new or lapsed season ticket holders? That is where the club can prove it's worthiness. Leading from the front and giving fans belief is what the board should be delivering.
I agree with one of your earlier posts in that in the Uncle Maurice & It's not my round Dave days we had far too much change and that is what drags me back to sticking with SW who lives and loves the club to bringing in someone who may not be able to take on to the next level. Having said that I did expect in changes in the backroom staff where some much needed new blood for me is a necessity.
We will see what the new season brings. I'm not hopeful of any success but very open to changing my views if the team can turn it around. Last year for me was summed in 3 must win games where we failed to even turn up - Cas at home in 8's, Hull in the CC final and Wakefield away in the last match of the season. If in my opinion they play shoite I will say so. What is the point of could have would have? If the club continues with its poor communications and apparent lack of direction again I will say so. Other fans have other ways of showing their displeasure i.e. not going anymore or not buying a ST then that is their way of answering poor performances on and off the pitch.
For all my pontificating I really do want the club to succeed and for me personally success doesn't have to be silver wear every year. If the club get me enjoying my game again, get me to actually to look forward to going to the game and giving me a bit of pride back then for me that would be a success.
