We’ll see where Hampshire is when he’s behind Miller and Finn in the pecking order before getting too downhearted to be fair.
I hope it all works out for him and he fulfils his talent but would I be surprised to see him turning out for Wakeys reserves or filling in on the wing part way through 2018? No I wouldn’t!
I think that is a fair point however Wakefield have real strength in depth across the outside backs so I would be surprised to see him feature there too often unless they had a major injury crisis.
Finn and Miller are a very good partnership they complement each other very well, but Finn is coming towards the end of his career and also moved to hooker during games to accommodate Sam Williams last season during matches and I expect they will do the same this year. It will be interesting to see if Rocky and Miller can gel as they are both off the cuff type players and neither really soecislise in controlling a game which Finn is superb at, much like Deacon was for us.
It’s early days for him at a new club so it could go either way, however I believe our system stifled his development trying to put a square peg in a round hole and to be fair I think this has also impacted on Williams form and that of Tommy since his return.
Hopefully the club seems to accept that our styles and systems don’t really work, certainly from the spectators point of view and I expect it to change next year, just a shame it has come too late for us to potentially get the best out of a player like Rocky.
