I'm not familiar with the guy (don't watch union), but why has he gone from earning £460k to not being wanted and having to consider another sport? Has his form fallen off a cliff by any chance?

Cooper is a "quirky character"...but he can kick goals at least..I think he might end up at Newport GD as article suggests

If we had the cap space to chase Quade Cooper, I'd much rather we used it to chase Jonathon Thurston.

Cooper always struck me as another of these John Gallagher characters - blithely proclaimed 'the best in the world' by the RU press, even though he's never actually been tested.

In terms of the cap, if I recall correctly as he would be signed from union he would not count on the cap in the first year and 50% on the second. If the article is true and a SL club is after him then cap space for this year at least wouldn’t be an issue.

How do we stand with cap space? We’ve lost quite a few from the squad and only brought in 2. I understand that some contracts will have been improved but we must have a bit of wiggle room now?

That's true. I've always thought that Cooper could be decent RL player as he is good runner of the ball. I reckon he'd make a decent centre.
