I’m not sure they are though? A binman who gets sacked from one local authority would be able to apply for a job in another local authority. I’d say the only professions where you wouldn’t be able to apply the same skills would be if u were sacked from the police, fire service, military etc.(I’m sure there’ll be many others).
Hardaker has a particular set of skills which employers crave. Once his punishment is served, it’s perfectly reasonable to expect he will be employed to utilise those skills. As others have said, we’re not the only club who would be interested in employing him.
Bigred nobody is saying that he can't or shouldn't work again I along with others are just suggesting he should ply his trade somewhere else. Employers have a choice in whom they employ. For the life of me other than good old money (and for me that just isn't enough) there is no reason on earth why a club would want to sign someone like ZH. I don't know about you but I wouldn't employ someone who good at their job but has loads of personal issues that he brings to work on a regular basis.
History is littered with selfish guys like ZH who don't care about anyone but themselves either at work or leisure who will not or cannot change his attitude so why the hell waste your energy, time and money on him when he couldn't give a shiny shoite about anyone else?
I genuinely and sincerely hope that he can change but apart from a press release written for him presumably by his brief he has said jack shoite on how he intends to change. Moving 60 miles west isn't a recipe for change its just easy way to keep the money coming in. If he wants to get away from his "mates" why doesn't he go over to Australia to ply his trade he'd be 12,00 miles away so no chance of an hour's drive to meet up for a lad's night on the town in Yarkshire?
For me as a club we are coming over a little grubby in all this and that is what really disappoints me. If ZH can turn things around then hats off to the lad but why do we as club think we can do something that other clubs and coaches have failed to do just baffles me. It just reeks of double standards I'm afraid and that is what I find so galling in this. I know that I am probably in the minority here with my views but hey ho.
If we sign him I just hope that he can demonstrate than he can and will change. Hey maybe SW putting an arm around will help do the trick but ZH needs to grow up and accept his responsibilities before he starts off down the road to changing his lifestyle forever. Hopefully with help from friends like Ritchie S he may be able to make major changes in his lifestyle however only time will tell.
