It should've been his original destination in 2018 but hopefully we can find a decent replacement quickly.

I am referring to the two entirely different situations. MM had, as far as I am aware a trouble free senior career with Wigan club discipline-wise and wasn't shown the door for disciplinary reasons (by two clubs never mind by Wigan). If he was a bit of rough lad at age 16 when Wigan were signing him that was put behind him and he has not got himself sacked for disciplinary issues or drugs as a senior player. Hardaker has gone the other way. There is no comparison and if I was MM I'd be less than pleased to be spoken of in the same breath as Hardaker.

Re: Rumours and signings v9 : Tue Feb 27, 2018 3:53 pm
Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane says the club have not spoken with Zak Hardaker about a potential move to the DW Stadium.

Hardaker, the 2015 Man of Steel, is a free agent after Castleford Tigers terminated his contract on Wednesday following his failed drugs test in the weeks leading up to the 2017 Super League Grand Final.

Wane admitted an interest in signing Hardaker earlier this week but insists no contact will be made between the two parties while UK Anti-Doping continues its investigations.

"I've not spoken to him. I know the club has not spoken to him," Wane said. "I don't what the details are with him personally, from a UKAD point of view. It's nothing to do with me.

"Whatever happens, happens."

No I am referring to the false equivalence Wane made over MM's career compared to Hardakers. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?

It doesn’t sound like Sarginson is going anywhere. Wane spoke about him in his press conference yesterday saying how the players and staff love him and they’re giving him a couple of weeks to strengthen his shoulder.

I know he splits opinion but I don’t think anyone can deny that there looks to be a lack of strength in the tackle and that must come from that shoulder. He’s never been the best defender but he’s never been this poor either.

On his day, the guy can be incisive and dangerous - I just wish those days came along more often.

But I'm not going to get on Sarge's case so early in the season, when he hasn't by any means been the only Wigan player to underperform.

I think he peeved a few people during his last season with us through seemingly endless stories we heard about him wanting to leave. No fan likes the thought of their club being 'dumped', even for the NRL - but especially not when the player concerned is clearly not NRL standard. However, it's been said many times before, and it's true - RL players only have short careers, and they must try to get the best gigs they can. In the salary cap era, those gigs aren't in the UK.

So you're not saying we shouldn't touch Zak due to his drug test fail?
