if sutton does go immediately, I can imagine it will be an internal promotion of players, and I feel that is the case because I hear the additional spare cap money has been thrown at bateman to get him to stay on, which for me, is a good thing. i'd play with no props to keep him at wigan for another few years!!

We always play with no props anyway, we play with ‘middles’

For me he can go, but now we are 2 Props down, and should have manufactured some cap space we need to invest that back in the team as a matter of priority.

Letting him go without a signing lined up would be a mistake.

Add to this our issues with size, or lack of and we seem to be happy letting our 2 bigger units leave if we don’t have something lined up then I’d be very disappointed.

Agree with you John except that I quite like Sutton albeit that he is quite a bit away from being the finished article.
Personally I wouldn't let him go until next season unless there is a suitable replacement lined up.
FPN I understand going but Sutton as well would leave us significantly short on the prop front with the young pretenders probably not quite ready to step up to first team rugby on a weekly basis.

Twitter is fun this morning! Sam Burgess has tweeted that his apartment in Bondi is up for sale and fans of practically every club in England asking if he signed for them! Leigh, Dewsbury, Saints to name just a few! I’m sure there’s absolutely nothing in it but I suppose you never know.

I agree re promoting internal players but I don’t see the point in throwing money at Bateman when it’s clear his intention is to go to the NRL. Personally I wouldn’t stand in his way either, don’t get me wrong I would rather he stayed as he’s an asset to us but his heart is set on the NRL.

6'4, almost 18 stone.
