Lockers will do another year beyond 2018, no doubt about it. I appreciate its still early into 2018 but he is looking tip top and hopefully can keep injury free this season. we'd be daft not to extend his contract(although I already thought we had to be fair?!)

Bateman won't be leaving this season or next either, he is being offered a bumper deal to stay here for another few years (which i'm told he has accepted provisionally and an announcement is due on this soon). he will go to the NRL from there i'm sure, when he is more or a wigan legend and everyone wants their hands on him!

That seems to be gathering a bit of pace. I liked his comments about the Denver test saying any player going to the NRL will want assurances they can play for England. Any negative thoughts are positive for us.

One thing I noticed about 3 or 4 weeks ago now were pictures posted by both Bateman and Gildart on Instagram of their nice shiny new Rolex watches they’ve bought. I may be reading too much in to it but it’s the type of item you may buy after getting a nice pay increase (or maybe to celebrate a move elsewhere on more money).

Maybe I’m just daring to dream.

I am led to believe that JB got more money when George signed his deal. I expect him to sign a new contract. Keeping John and adding Greenwood to our backrow will be good business in my book.

It would be excellent business and set us up long term for when Joel and Lockers retire.

Why would he leave for anyone else at all?
He’s on top money still at the moment, why would be go to the worst team in the league.

And from our point of view, why would we let our best attacking player go anywhere else. This season he’s been back to being our best player in attack, most of our tries come from his link up play at full back, something which Escare (although he has pace), isn’t as capable of.
