And already, the comments are appearing on social media about making us pay back rent for a stadium we didnt use on a contract based on a percentage of gate receipts when nobody attended

Yet the same people think that its perfectly ok to pay just 25% of your outstanding debts to small businesses who have probably either gone under or will never recover.

I summed my comment up with - "If I owed you £1000, but offered you £250 just after inheriting £1m from an elderly relative, would you accept it?"

we only played 1 game at the DW didnt we without fans? Its fine as our agreement is 10% of gate receipts, it was in the playoffs so had none so they can have 10% of nothing

You have forgotten to carry the 1 - they can have 100% of nothing

No, but to then expect Wigan Warriors to pay a season's rent for a stadium they could not and did not use for 75% of the games based on an "assumed attendance" is pretty poor form.

Showing their class, when they should have a little humility seeing where they have been over the past 9 months.

Most of them probably thought we'd get kicked out.

They will go pop again. It will keep happening. They will keep being sold on and handed around. Dave Whelan (personal feelings aside) was one of the best businessmen of his generation and he couldn't make them sustainable whilst being thrown hundreds of millions for their stay in the Premier League. Foreign chancers looking for a Premier League pay day and average Joe businessmen will not get them at a profit making point. They are in a race to the bottom, it will just take a few years to materialise. They won't get out of league 1. Well they will, but it wont be moving in the direction i think the Latics fans think they are heading in. They are billy big rubbish again now regarding us 'How much they hate us, and up the rent, and throw them out' A few months ago most of them were begging for us to help and take the stadium. Their long term future is terminal and the clock is ticking, tick tock tick tock.

As I said on the IL thread. Barely any sporting clubs are sustainable. They all lose money.

If the new owners choose to sell them on when they've had enough then they won't go pop (not that they have) in the same way we wouldn't if IL sells to Danson. If the new owners choose to try and liquidate them like the chinese then that's another matter
