I am sure he has more options than just Long, IL has probably made approaches to players we will never even know about.

It's alomost nailed on we'll fanny about until mid January watching all over superleague teams getting their squads together whilst we miss out on any decent players and then we'll end up with a fullback, another winger, a centre and a utility scrum half/hooker and no more forwards!

We're very modern thinking in that we're going to stop playing with forwards and just have 13 backs

I know it's already been said but Calderwood has been one of our best players. He had a bit of a mountain to climb because his signing was viewed with a fair amount of suspicion but it's fair to say he's won us over. Best of a bad bunch it'd be fair to say. Can't argue with the others though.

Yep, has already been said, but I agree.
He more often than not gave 100% for Wigan... problem was he was crap.

In the right side with the right tactics Calderwood is a decent wingman.

Always said put him in the Saints side instead of Gardner and he'd do far more for them. He would take the walk ins on offer from Gidley and previously Lyon but unlike Gardner would work his knackers off for the team and chase lost causes.

Correct. As an FC supporter I've been amazed by Calderwood's attitude. We are the least expansive club in the competition and he's had many makeshift centres to partner this season, so he gets virtually nothing in terms of opportunities, but like you say he will put in tremendous effort and chase lost causes all day. I never liked him before he came to Hull, but he has been the player that's impressed me the most this season (as already mentioned, little competition )
