Is this a bad sign for Clark? Can't think of many times we've signed someone with so much SL experience then them not gone straight into the starting 17, never mind not making the 21 man squad when we're without our 2nd best prop. Makes a bit of a mockery of Radlinski's claim that he is one of Super League's most destructive forwards/fierce middles to be honest. Why sign him if he's behind Partington, Byrne and Havard?

The bad sign for Clark is that he’s not a very good player. He’s lazy, doesn’t play many minutes and is crap in defence. He might come on and make an eye catching run but that’s about it, I doubt he would have been signed if we had already got Burgess.

The Naverette loan and Bryne new contract are linked

Naverette would be a “progress stopper” for the young lads if he got game time over Bryne, Oli P and Havard (even Kilner soon)

I’d rather blood them lads and the persist with the ups and downs rather than a Naverette (who 2018 play is his highest potential IMO)

I like IL but 2 moves he will regret will be

Morgan Escare - 4 year deal in 2017
Naverette - 3 year deal in 2018

Both most probably on improved money. Our squad would look even better with these 2 totally off the books.

Agree with you on this. We are now paying the price unfortunately (although Wakefield are off-setting some of it). Let's hope Escare follows him as soon as possible.

I think we made a mistake giving Clubb two years as well.

It looks like the extra year is in the clubs favour according to the press releases at the time. I can't see that option being taken up with Escare surely?

Watson signing a new deal at Salford great news for them.

No disrespect to Salford and despite recent success I expected one of the traditional big clubs to snap him up.

I'm really intrigued by Watson as he got a lot out of what is essential a team of journey men. Interesting to see if it was a one season wonder, or what impact the loss of Hastings and Jones will have on them.

IF he performs and gets the most out of guys like Sarginson, then he'll certainly be a candidate for when Lam leaves.

They’ll be weaker than last season no doubt but I can see them pushing for top 5 again not problem, think Kev Brown will surprise a few people and their pack seems to have no problem making meters

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

With regards Clubb and Clarke, from what I’ve seen I’d rather play either Rushton, Havard and Kilner in place of them.

Clarke works hard and looks keen and aggressive but I prefer the big tall athletic modern style prop.

Would appear to be the obvious choice
