Holbrook was poor in his first season but tbf nearly did scrape a GF appearance.
2018 they won nothing except the shield, bottling 2 more semi-finals.
2019 they finally came good and won the GF but bottled the CC final.

That's true, but at the same time anyone could see the improvement. I know they failed in his 2nd season, but they'd progressed and then managed to kick on from there.

The biggest question mark over any of Lenagans ‘signings’ these past couple of years isn’t over a player IMO.

True although you can see how it happened with the Edwards debacle, it’s like he now has the job by accident.

With the investment in the squad there is certainly a lot more pressure on him this season.

Out of interest is there anybody out there who you think could be a potential successor?

Bibby Grand Finalist last year and had a fantastic season.

Burgess massive signing.

Bullock not a big name but a project that seems to be going well so far.

Clarke not had a chance yet but a player I think he will be an asset going forward.

Hankinson was a player that was being sought after by a number of top SL clubs.

There is a thing called the Salary Cap, it means you can’t go out and buy a team of internationals anymore.

If yourself and some of the other supporters on here are happy with the signings as mentioned above, so be it.

Many other supporters who I know, are not!

As for the Salary Cap, there are many supporters do not believe that it has been fully spent in the last couple of seasons as a result of the losses incurred in the Millwall game, the trip to Australia and the money spent on upgrading the Robin Park Arena.

And nobody has said anything about signing a team of Internationals!

I’m sure some wouldn’t be happy with this and I wouldn’t be either were these the only signings we had made in the last few years but when you add, Hardaker (Former man of Steel) French and Hastings (Current Man of Steel) to the list then consider contract upgrades retentions, investment in top quality youth from outside the club and impending arrival of the best secondrow forward in the NRL then in my opinion you and the many people you know who are not happy need to manage their expectations.

Too much reasoning, logic and understanding of the complications involved for some to understand.

Much easier to just say "Lenegahn out", "Wane out", " Sack player (insert name this week, remove and replace next week)", Leneghans pocketing the money, blah blah blah.

I suppose Ian Leneghans time will come when hes taken to court for falsifying the books, lying to shareholders etc. Because someone on and internet forum is accusing him of lying about what he spends on players wages (I would assume this would all be in the books wouldn't it?) and telling us that they "know many fans who arent happy either" to lend weight ro support their statement.

Same people who are peed off at losing Harry Rushton, who would be peed off if we lost Harry Smith, smithies, Havard etc. Are then wanting us to spend more and more on let's say established top line players (despite the fact and evidence that we already do) would be the first to criticise if we lost thise youngsters players due to having a short term view view and not being able to keep hold of the youngsters coming through for the long term, or even get them to come to the club in the first place as money is being spent too much at the top end and not at the bottom to support the club (see 2005/6/7 before evidence of how that works).

I'd like to guess that a lot of those people with the same message are the ones moaning about paying for P&P on an item from the shop, tickets are too dear etc etc.

It still feels like he’s in caretaker charge to me and that’s strange. The whole situation around him doing 12 months never sat well with me and I felt at the time that either Edwards came straight away or not at all and it’s left us in limbo. It still feels a bit like we’re in limbo and I suppose you could get rid of that by giving Lam a 2 or 3 year deal but I don’t see a great deal to suggest that’s the right move.

Personally I’d give him this season but try and not rush in to any decisions and keep our eyes open for a longer term appointment. I like that Shaun Wane fella but that’s not going to happen. I’ve been hugely impressed with what Ian Watson is doing at Salford and he’d probably be the guy I’d turn to first but there always seems to be coaches in the NRL who are working as assistants and want a head coaches job. If there is another Maguire or Holbrook available I’m not sure. Everybody raved about Adam O’Brien but I think he’s at Newcastle now. Guys like Demitriou and Jason Ryles seem to get linked with a lot of jobs but like it worried me with Lam, it worries me with guys like that as they’ve never been given one.

I don’t know how anybody could be unhappy with the squad put together for this year. I wasn’t happy with last years but the investment for this season was impressive on paper. It’s up to the coach now to get the maximum out of them and challenge for trophies. We have a better squad this year than we had in some of Wanes latter years IMO, so there’s no excuses.

The argument falls down there, I'm afraid.

There are lots of people who believe all sorts of things if it suits their argument.

But to persuade those who aren't sure, you tend to need evidence.
