Interesting interview with Hastings. Especially the bit where he says he wants to know who will be coaching where before he makes a decision. To me that implies we are in the running.

Could just as easily refer to Saints - I think Holbrook was at the Roosters when he first made first grade, and entirely possible a draw for him to work with a coach he’s worked with before.

I know there's a school of thought that he was never destined to go anywhere but back home to Wakefield, but he really was a star as a junior and increasingly he's starting to look like one as a senior.

I'm not putting him at the Sean Long level of loss, but he would certainly be one of our starting halfbacks were he at Wigan now, and he would have been for the past couple of years.

It would be harder seeing him in a Wigan shirt, the Gelling ship has sailed for me. But granted he was/is far better than Sarg

Think Wire would sign him as part player part marketing tool. They’re pretty switched on with that now and would utilise that element far better then we ever did.

I’d certainly take him back here over the likely options which seem to be Sarginson, Hankinson or Jake Bibby.

Signing Jensen wouldn’t inspire but it’s been hard to predict how NRL imports will go over here so I would hope he can surprise and dominate.

I'm hearing Hastings is interested in coming to us, but the issue is the length of the contract. We want to tie up him for a few years, whereas he only wants a 1 year deal.
