Chris Green signed permanent deal with Wakey, kind of prop we could do with IMO.

Not really, we’re a big prop short but we can aim higher than Chris Green, we should be moving on Navarette Escare and a couple of halfbacks and looking for a prop who can play long minutes and take 10+ carries a game

Moving contracted players on is not just that easy unfortunately. Resigning Clubb was a major mistake, i think they now realise that but unfortunately too late.

We need a squad of players, not just 17. Clubb isn’t the player he was but still has the occasional good performance in him. If he’s not taking up a big chunk of the cap then I’m ok with retaining him for another season for squad rotation purposes. I think with Burgess, Clarke and Bullock for competition as well as Flower, Byrne and Partington he may find opportunities hard to come by. That still leaves Navarette as well but if possible, he’d be one I’d release.

If Clubb is taking £1 of our salary cap it's too much. An appalling decision to give him any extension, never mind a TWO YEAR extension.

It’s up to Lam and Clubb himself to find the form he showed from around the time of that Leeds away game and the following weeks. He was very good, making good ground with the ball and forgetting the niggly stuff in defence. His end to the season was truly pathetic and he should be pretty embarrassed. I’d love to see him come back after pre season a stone and a half lighter and fight for his spot. It’s tough to see him in the 17 on that end of season form.

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

I’d have rather have had Green than Clubb. Club offers nothing other than acting like a modern day Paul Forber trying to intimidate the opposition but it doesn’t work, acting hard doesn’t intimidate grown men who play Superleague, the only thing that would is smashing them like Morley used to but that is out of Clubbs skill set.

What he needs to do is get his diet in check, get fitter and focus on piling up the stats for metres made, tackles made, offloads, tackle busts and metres made after contact.

At the minute the only stats he leads on is how long he can carry carpets for during a game, minutes spent snarling/scowling, least drives for a prop per game, most late shots on the kicker and least metres made.

Spot on.

It baffles me where his post contract signing extension form went. He was a major player in the upturn of form, doing everything opposite to what he was doing at the end of the season in what can only be described as pathetic behaviour and performances. He was acting the big hard man but in actual fact he was bottling it.

I think he’ll find opportunities hard to come by next season. As others have stated with a pack of Burgess, Bullock, Partington, Byrne, Flower and Clarke it’s hard to see where he gets a chance barring injuries.

THE BATTLE FOR HASTINGS
JACKSON Hastings’s days in the Super League looked numbered with several NRL clubs keen to bring the fallen Sea Eagle back to Australia.
Hastings quit the NRL after falling out with the Manly club in 2018.
Last week he was crowned the best player in the Super League when named the Man of Steel.
We have been told he has earned a long line of admirers back in Australia, with one club preparing to make a $500,000-a-year offer to bring the Salford Red back home.

I’ve heard Melbourne are wanting Agar as a straight swap for Bellamy!
