He probably wouldn’t cost the Earth and whilst not international standard is a very good SL player.

Thornley and Lyne in the centre would lack finesse and have a few mistakes in them but the size and meters they would make would make up for that.

Lyne is under contract for another couple of years. Wakey want to upgrade him to fend off interest from other clubs.

No, I didn't, really. Why should I have done. My query was more about why French was not being considered, in any position.

Sad that some supporters cannot face up to the fact that in the present financial situation of the club, Lenagan might not be in a good financial position to offer any other Coach a better contract than the one which he has given to Lam.

I remember before we came back after covid everyone said they’d be happy just to have a club to support, that view has quickly changed with many.

Not a rumour but I’d hope we are looking into the Luke Gale situation at Leeds, wouldn’t mind him as a replacement for Hastings.

IMO we should stay well clear of Gale. Decent player but too similar in playing styles to Harry smith - who I think will be a good 7 for Wigan. We need a stand off that can run and take the line on to partner Smith.

Then if that is the case surely he should be looking to move the club on to somebody that is in a financial position to make this club great again, Signing former coaches, players and championship level players is not the way forward

He very well might be but I doubt there are many people queuing up to buy the club, Superleague clubs don’t seem to attract many rich owners and in the current uncertain climate it’s probably putting people off further.

As I mentioned recently in another thread, what then was the reason for bringing Mike Danson into the fold? Personal wealth of £1.17 billion.

It’s a difficult time for everyone at present and I’m not suggesting we start throwing money around in a foolhardy way but anyone who buys into an RL club, in the manner in which he has, must surely know he’s there to put money in, not take it out.

Whilst the recruitment of the NRL lads, plus Miski, is welcome news for 2022, it feels like over the last two or three years, we have not replaced like with like and we are slowly regressing.

The next Head Coach position has got to be bang on. We’ve had three poor years under Adrian Lam and if the new man comes in on say a two or three year contract, and fails to deliver, that is too long a time for a club like Wigan. Standards don’t appear to be being maintained.
