In relation to Marshall much is reliant on Hastings.

If he stays next year Smith is the right way to go.

If Hastings goes a 2 year deal for Marshall I’m my opinion could be a good move. Reynolds is also available apparently.

Both past their best but we need an experienced half to play with Smith and if Hastings goes then I think either would be solid options.

Marshall in particular has been superb despite his age last year and at the start of this year less so in the maverick role but more in the organising general role.

Agree Benji was very good last year. He is still a pleasure to watch.

I do think Benji Marshall would be a good signing if Hastings were to go and would be a good HB partner for Smith. If Hastings does go we’d need to sign a replacement half, Tommy can’t play there under any circumstances IMO. Marshall would be a good route to take, his best days are behind him but as others have said he’s still a pleasure to watch. I think he’d do well over here and would certainly give Smith some more education and experience which can only benefit him in the long run.

Why are are supporters always wanting to buy players from down under who are past their best, just because they were well known name when at their peak?

Give me a Bevan French anyday.

The first priority has to be to get Ethan Havard to sign a new deal.

With the NRL season likely to finish months before SL, could we see some players coming over for half a season after theirs has finished? Used to happen years ago for play-offs until they stopped it but I'm guessing that will all go out of the window.

I see he’s appointed an Aussie agent to test the market over there. If a club pays a set fee he can go for 2021 but if not, his contract runs until the end of 2021.

I find it amazing gildart is still only 23. I’d imagine he’ll be gone at the end of the year.

Agree that Harvard needs signing up and a long term deal.

I think our only hope re. Gildart is the NRL's general rule of thumb of having giants in their 3/4 line but if someone makes him an offer I assume he'll be gone, as he's stated, he's always wanted a crack at it.
