I doubt we'll be seeing NRL clubs make recruitment announcements until after the current situation is resolved. Their salary cap and potentially the amount of clubs will be significantly less that it is now.

Article doing the rounds saying Nathan Brown tried to sign John Bateman on 3 occasions. One when he was a Huddersfield one when he was deciding which NRL club to join and once when he was at Wigan for Saints.

I know it never happened but can you imagine the meltdown if it had?!

Watkins released with immediate effect from the Titans. He's been linked with us before. Not sure how I'd feel about it. Always felt positionally in defence he was poor and on occasions lacked heart BUT can be a game breaker.

I think he’d be a good signing to be honest and if true it would spell the end for Hank as he’d be pushed into 3rd spot behind Bibby. His signing would further compound the mystery of Bibby’s signing though (broken record time again).

Tough time for Watkins to try and get a club to spend a good salary on him. If we were interested a month or so ago, that could well be very different now.

He’ll be signed pending season restarting or signed and furloughed straight off the bat to save whichever club he signs for some money

Not sure how it all works but I don’t think a company can take an employee on and put them straight on Furlough can they? Who knows though, it’s tough to keep up with.

He may well have been fixed up weeks back for all we know and I’m sure he’s walked away from Gold Coast with some money but if he’s still negotiating he may find offers lower than they were.
