Can't win the Grand Final & the challenge cup : Mon Sep 09, 2013 7:10 pm  

No team has won the grand final and the challenge cup since the cup was moved to August. The stains will try and say they have done this double but they played the cup match in May. Without lockers and a team that's not interested in getting to the final I get the feeling our season is going to continue with the poor form we can't seam to play through. I can't tell you how much I hope I am wrong.

2006. Challenge cup final was in August. Saints won that and went on to win the Grand Final.

But nobody has done it in the current 8 team format.
When Saints did it in 2006 they had a week off in the first round and then another week off before the final.

Wasn't that also another "salary cap cheating year" for Saints?

Maybe he /she didn't realise, so the point was valid as the systems are different. And am I correct about the salary cap breach that year?

The point he/she made was regards to the timing of the cup final.
