Bad news for Warrington, Wigan, and Leigh fans comes with news of the death of Laurie Gilfedder in Warrington General Hospital on Monday of this week. Laurie was a member of the Warrington Hall of Fame. He starred for Wigan in the famous 1965 CC Final v Huntley, kicking a goal from the halfway line in the first minute.

Sad news. RIP Laurie.
I went to that game in 1965 against Hunslet and got bitten very badly by the Rugby League bug! Thankfully.

This might sound daft but was he the guy who used to bounce up and down on his toes as part of his kicking routine?

I can only remember David Stephenson doing that when he kicked I'm not old enough to remember the other guy
