The club statement is the craziest thing ive ever seen. Edwards has clearly clarified his position - he has no contract and has not been offered one. What more do they want him to do, get down on his knees in Mr Lenegans office and beg?

It wouldnt surprise me to see Edwards just sign a contract with somebody else now and i wouldnt blame him one bit.

Me either. If anything this puts other clubs in a driving seat, Wasps etc.
-They now know Edwards is free from 2020
-They can impress him simply by being a professional outfit
-They haven't publicly arrogated Edwards

Could it be the move from him investing his own money to the new strategic move of wanting the club to be self-sufficient?

I can understand this, timing wise it isn’t great (attendances are plummeting). Where else is the income coming in from? Other than getting a transfer fee every twelve months for one of our stars, a short-sighted way of doing things?

Plus his strategy shouldn’t stop him (and his management team) from being professional. He’s supposed to be a successful businessman.

You'd support Edwards walking away?

This is clearly a bid to get himself in the shop window when his stock is at its highest. No doubt he's got his eye on the England RU defensive coach job.

If he wanted to come to Wigan it's a quick phone call to Radlinski to confirm everything is still on track. Airing it in the media shows his true intentions.

Fair play to him, if nothing has been signed then he's well within his rights to hawk his services about, but I'll certainly think less of him and will not support him.

He’s within his rights to say sod it im off and given the ineptitude on display from the club I’d do the same,I think the whole situation was ridiculous from the start and this sort of thing could have happened at any time since his (non) signed for the club

Maybe the unveiling of Edwards was seemingly a good wheeze at the time ? But now the sum of money required, to get SE as coach has finally sunk in ?

I’m thinking this. It’s all about the money, money, money!

Someone is lying here:

The club website is still saying this "Wigan Warriors are delighted to announce that Shaun Edwards OBE will return to the Club as Head Coach for the 2020 season after signing a three-year contract.
Read more at https://www.wiganwarriors.com/news/2018 ... iQ6dKDl.99

Edwards says different. What is enlightening is the club statement this morning doesn't mention the fact he signed a contract.

If it's proved the club have lied to the fans, Lenegan and Radlinski need to leave the club and put it up for sale.

Wasps have lined Edwards up and a deal is in place ‘awaiting signature’. Maybe this is why IL can’t get hold of him.

Ridiculous
