I did watch it, what a strange game! For thirty-nine minutes Wigan were in complete control, playing fast open rugby, defending well, really good to watch and led 28 - 0. Then they dropped the ball about 15 metres from their own line and Widnes scored to make it 28 - 4 at half time. Sutton the left centre had scored two tries and had another disallowed for obstruction.
Whatever happened at half time?
Widnes kicked us to death with a superb kicking game from their half backs, Tyrer #6 was outstanding for them as was their fullback and they scored three tries in the first ten minutes. You could see the Widnes confidence increase and Wigans disappear.
Eventually Wigan got back into the game and their forwards began to get on top to eventually run out 42 - 26 winners, a lot closer than it should have been, but maybe I'm not giving Widnes the credit they deserve.

Did you get to watch it Brian? If so, what was your view of the match?

I thoroughly enjoyed that game, some top players on both sides. Wigan have probably the most complete player in the entire age group with number 13 Matthew Nicholson who I believe is from Siddal RL, it is very rare to see a player who is exceptional in every skill facet of the game. Like Rogues said Widnes had a good fullback infact their spine of 1,6,7, 13 & 9 are very impressive. Good to see Bradford, Wigan, Leeds & Warrington either showing full scholarship games or highlights this season.

I thought the Widnes kicking game was as good as anything I've ever seen at this age group, not sure if the i-pitch helps though.

Some scientists claim that hydrogen, because it is so plentiful, is the basic building block of the universe. I dispute that. I say there is more stupidity than hydrogen, and that is the basic building block of the universe.
