I think these crazy ventures havent helped. The London trip and Aus, miffed a lot of fans off as it was a home game they lost. They were both failures aswell especially the Aus one. Il said it didnt do aswell as hoped. Bad squad management and behind the scene costs are whats making losses im afraid

Yeah, I do get that re Aus. I do have some sympathy for IL though, fans complained about boring Wane rugby that got results, we now have attacking rugby but aren’t getting the results and understandably people aren’t happy.

That said, as good as IL has been for the club it’s probably time to go. Today highlighted (our injuries aside) the gulf in quality between our squads. Need a big clean out.

I think with Lenegan’s managed decline in operation there will be someone lined up. Whether they have the funds to generate a strong Wigan is open to question and until we know it’s all conjecture anyway. It’s quite possible to be both praising and critical of Lenegan in his time with us but there’s clearly a seed being planted that it’s the fans/disappearing fans who need to be blamed.

I think one thing that has annoyed a lot of the fanbase and has probably contributed to the fall off in crowd numbers is that in recent years we have sold so many of our better players, often after they had signed long contracts whilst other clubs have been seen to tie their stars down to similar long contracts which the other clubs' players then see out in their entirety. So there is now a general feeling among fans that should we produce or sign a player that is one of the better players in the competition that we will not be keeping them anyway whilst had they come through at Saints, Leeds etc that they would probably be staying with them for a decade or so. We seem only to produce players for other clubs and competitions. We all know that due to the cap we can't keep all of our top players but we are regularly losing the better ones and building a squad full of plodders over time.

As someone who stopped going to games (other than about 3 or 4 a year) circa 3 or 4 years ago, I get this argument thrown at me a lot.
Bore off.
It’s my cash.
It’s a pathetic argument to say that it’s ultimately the fans fault, not turning up, for the lack of cash the club has.
Attract us back. Do something different (put some effort in, Like Wire are currently) and you’ll half a chance of getting me to spend my cash. Otherwise I’ll stick spending my - circa - £50 (for family of 3) at the zoo or a meal out. The world doesn’t revolve around Wigan RL like it did in the 80’s.

I love the club. I’ll always support them. My day, today, revolved around making sure I was in front of a tv for 2:55pm.
However, I currently have little desire to spend my cash on Wigan.

We have higher attendances than wire and saints but they can spend more?
