In this link he says Lam is still favourite for the job? Is he watching the same games we are?

Also, he’s reluctant to take home games away from the DW because he got stick from season ticket holders. Erm, so you should Ian, they’re losing out. If you want a game away from home have it reflected in the price of a season ticket or better still, have home games at home, there’s an idea.

I’m in a minority but for for reasons explained to death in other threads, I still believe Lam is the man for the job and that investment in the squad is the bigger issue.

As for the rest of this, I’m just grateful that Catalan don’t have the same narrow minded view as some on here. A wonderful weekend and a new record crowd for a SL game. Maybe there’s something in this idea of taking games away from your usual ground after all....

It’s not just as simple as investing in the squad, that needs addressing yes but it’s plain to see a badly coached side, it’s as if they don’t know what to do and it’s either because what Lams telling them is garbage, what he’s telling them they don’t agree with and aren’t doing it or what’s in his mind he isn’t getting it across to the players. I’d say what he’s telling them is garbage, he’d probably make a good assistant coach but he’s in way over his head.

You can flog him over the current state of performances

However to slate him for eh Barca trip?!

I bet he has got stick from some fans. Looking at some of the dirge posted on here by a few of the merry moaning men and woman, the are pretty much impossible to please.

Who’s slating him for the Barcelona trip? It’s more like the Millwall game which he’s saying he got stick for and rightly so.

You seriously think a game with political overtones is an advert for taking games away from your core support?

The Barca was a qualified success because of the Catalan region,I hope Catalan can harness it and push on we shall see, every time Wigan both to millwall(why?) and the ludicrous game down under have hurt relations with the home support, the Australian. Game in particular as most couldn’t go,but hey let’s continue to take games away from the DW and he won’t have many season ticket holders left as it does seem to be down again this season, times are hard and people expect value for money not to be insulted by a “price freeze”

As for Lam I’ve seen nothing to suggest he is the right chap for the job, poor in attack and poor in defence is all I’ve seen so far and the added comedy value of most of the team blowing out of their buns after 20 mins, which I grant isn’t down to Lam but he should be and hopefully is doing something about that.

Spot on. You can also throw Hull In Wollongong in there as well. Nothing benefited the team from playing in Australia with the exception being that it put our players in the shop window and made it easier for aussie agents to meet them face to face. Oh and lets not forget, those that went do have some nice photo's to remember the occasion by.

The negativity never ceases to amaze me.

IL says he is reluctant to take games away from the DW because of the stick from some season ticket holders. So your criticising him for listening to the fans?

What else should he say about Lam, whether you think he should get the job or not to come out and say he has no chance (even if true) would benefit no one. All it would do is create more uncertainty in the camp & demotivate the coaching and playing staff.

I actually think that Lam should be given the job but I also think that he needs to bring in an assistant, not one of Shaun Wane's leftovers but someone with no connections to the club and for me Tony Smith would be a good fit.

I don't know what people have seen to warrant giving Lam the job.
Looking at the way we play, attitude of the players, league position etc, how exactly has he earned a head coaches job?

All his stint as done is boost Wane's profile.
